MIDWEST HOME DESIGN AWARDS 2023 COMMERCIAL BUILDING ARCHITECTURE - 1ST PLACE WINNER

Over the course of this 12-month renovation, Wings Insurance was transformed into a fully functional office space complete with a new vocational mechanical school, FlyWise Aviation. The renovation was tackled in 2 phases. The first phase focused on a complete renovation of the original 12,000 SF. The design was carefully curated to ensure the spaces maximize function for the users and accommodate Wings' future growth requirements. The second phase of the project included 5,000 SF of newly designed office space to house the new FlyWise Aviation program.

Dedicated to their team, GovDocs set out to execute a design with breakthrough brand creative expression that actually means something, rather than just delivering “cosmetic value.” The HEART mantra is a reminder of their core values and guides the business decisions.

Focusing on the town’s history, the Lumberjack Axe Throwing Bar further enhances this small-town vibe. When the owner approached the design team with her vision for a family-centric, eclectic, and history-rich venue, we knew this wasn’t going to be the average “pit stop.” With strong family ties to the lumbering industry, she had a mission to create a place built not only for her personal heritage but also for that of the community.

Development

Capturing more specifics and details, we finalize the initial concepts and dive deeper into the selections like materials, fixtures and other key design elements.

Construction

When the design is finalized, we hand off the drawings for permit and construction and coordinate with our industry experts. Don't worry, we're still in the mix and with you to the end!
